Here's a few of my FAVORITE shows when I was growing up. Why can't television be like it used to be? You know....back when you could sit down with your family and enjoy watching a show together without worrying about any inappropriate content. Man...those were the days!

Here's your question for the day...

What was YOUR favorite show or shows when you were growing up???

Tornado??

We had a big scare yesterday afternoon while we were at our Upward Awards Ceremony.
My friend Jayme came and told us that she just heard there was a tornado in the town that both mine and Michael's parents live. We had heard nothing about it.
Michael called our parents and a tornado (the news called it a storm cell) HAD touched down around 5pm yesterday about 1/2 mile from my Mom and 1 mile from Nancy and Danny. It had only been an hour since the storm had passed through.
No one knew the extent of the damage yet.

My Mom had just gotten home from the area that was hit the worst. She said she was pulling into her driveway when the winds began to pick up and the rain began to come down in sheets. My mom made it into her house and was fine.

Nancy was on her way home. The area that was hit...is an area she has to drive through to get home. When Michael talked to her on the phone she was sitting in traffic in her car trying to figure out how she was going to drive home. The state police would not let anyone past a certain point near the damage.
Danny was at home when the storm hit.
We talked to Nancy and Danny last night, Nancy made it home on a different route and she is fine.

Neither of our parents had any damage to their homes.

I just want to thank God that they were all safe and sound.

From what I have seen on the news and from what my Mom told me. There's quite of bit of damage in some areas of the town. So remember the families that were affected in your prayers. Also...remember my brother, Stevie, too. He works for Old Dominion Power and he will be putting some long hours in helping to get the power up and running again. Pray for his safety also.
Here's the article this morning from our newpaper...also this picture of one of the houses that was damaged.

We are having some CRAZY weather here in the south!

A Picture Perfect Day!

Wow! Yesterday was just beautiful! It was mostly sunny and 72 degrees here in the mountains of East Tennessee.
It's hard to believe that Jarrett was out of school JUST last week on Wednesday and Thursday due to SNOW!!!
I'm not complaining though! I'm just smiling and enjoying EVERY second of this beautiful weather that God created for us on this picture perfect day!
I have diagnosed myself with a serious case of Spring Fever!!!
We were outside almost all day long yesterday. I love it!
Blake and I played outside during the day yesterday. We invited some friends over too, we played baseball and played on our playground in the backyard. Michael came home from work early and we went to the park. It was nice to not have any plans yesterday evening and to just go and spend some time together doing whatever.
First, we hiked for an hour or a little longer. At our local park...there's alot of people that play Frisbee golf. Ever heard of that?? Let me tell ya...there was TONS of people playing it yesterday. Where we went hiking...it was also the trail that the Frisbee golfers take. We were dodging Frisbees left and right! It was madness!!! I don't see the appeal. We stopped and watched a few of the golfers play along the way. Jarrett thought it was pretty cool....Blake on the other hand just kept trying to pick up the Frisbees!
Then, we hit the playground. This park has one awesome playground. Big enough for us adults to play on too. By the time we got back to the park...it was beginning to get dark....so there wasn't many kids left. So we had full reign of the premises!
After we all ran around together being silly.....Jarrett and Blake played Ninja Warrior....pretending that the playground was an obstacle course. Michael and I sat that game out. We watched and laughed, alot.
Then, Jarrett loves to race. He is very competitive. (I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing sometimes). Anyway...Michael and I both can run fast. Michael was all state in High School in track. He can run REALLY fast!
We stood out in the parking lot last night running races. First, it was me and Jarrett...I won, but not by much. Jarrett is FAST! Then Michael and Jarrett....then Michael and I.....and of course Blake was running right along with us. Michael beat me by a country mile! He beat us ALL pretty effortlessly.
Then we went for some ice-cream. I passed on the ice-cream. I am a HUGE ice-cream lover, so that took some will power!!!! But, once I said no....I was proud of myself. Saying no to ice-cream was a big feat for me. Those of you that have been around me and ice-cream at the same time.....know exactly what I mean.

I just re-read this entry. I have rhymed several times (just did it again!).
I'm a female Dr. Seuss...giving you the play by play of our beautiful day. (Ok..I will stop now! ha..ha..ha) I was getting carried away! (Ok..seriously...I'm DONE!)

Our Weekend

We spent the majority of our weekend with our families. Saturday was Jarrett's last Upward Basketball game, my Mom and Michael's Mom and Dad got to come over together.
First, on Saturday, was CHAC Baseball practice for Jarrett. Jarrett, Blake and Michael went. I had some grocery shopping to do. (Lots of grocery shopping....$270 worth...to be exact!!! UGH!) They made it back home b4 I even left, because they got to the field and no one was there! Nice....don't you just love it when that happens. Michael didn't know if he misunderstood the time or if the practice was changed and no one called us. I wasn't happy....but I got some CUTE pictures of all of my boys...b4 they left for their practice, that didn't happen. Oh..well!

Saturday was our last Upward Basketball game....like I said before. I didn't take my camera...OOOOPS!!! I forgot to bring it. I had gotten home from Wallyworld just in time to leave for Upward....so it was a little chaotic and I forgot. Our team played a great game. We lost by 9 points. They all played hard and tried their best. That's all we ask of them. It's all about having fun. Michael and I decided to get them a cookie cake and have a LITTLE party for them after their game. So I left during halftime and went and picked up the cookie cake, then I decorated the room. The boys were so suprised! It was great.

After Upward we all came home and played outside. (It was nice on Saturday...65 degrees, Sunday is was 70 degrees...and today it is supposed to be 70 too!!! Yeeee-Haw! We will be playing outside and enjoying it!) We played some baseball. Here's Jarrett, Blake and Papaw Dan playing in our backyard.

Look at Blake smacking that baseball!

Here's a picture of my Mom. She and Michael were sitting in Blake's room talking and I took a picture of Mommy. I liked it....I thought it was a great picture of her. Would you guess that my Mom is 74 years old??!!! I think she looks great.....I hope her good genes were passed down to me!!!! =-)

Here's Blake with Papaw Dan. Blake stuck to Papaw Dan all day like glue. He enjoyed every single second of it too. Here's me and this cute guy I picked up! LOL! He agreed to take a picture with me.
The lighting certainly wasn't the best....but, I liked it anyway.

Mamaw Na Na and Papaw Dan

We all piled into the van to go eat dinner. I got to sit in the backseat with my boys. That doesn't happen often. I stole a couple of kisses! Here's Mamaw Net with her boys. It took a few minutes for them to get serious.....
Ok...here's the semi serious one. They love their Mamaw Net. She was running around playing with them the whole time. Like I said I hope when I am 74 I am JUST as youthful as she is.
I took like 229 pictures on Saturday. I love to get tons of pictures of them with their Mamaw's and Papaw. Those pictures are PRICELESS!!!!

We had a great weekend. Hope you guys did too!!!
I just got home from the gym....and I wanted to get this last post finished for today. We are heading outside to enjoy this pretty day!

The Weight Loss Challenge--Updates

I have updated the Weight Loss Challenge chart. Everyone turned their stats in on time!! Thanks!! I like to keep everything on a schedule....if you haven't already figured that one out! LOL!!

We have a new leader! It's Jayme, with a total weight loss of 9 pounds!!!! Way To Go! There's several that's not far behind.

For those of you that aren't doing as well as you hoped you would be. Be patient...It WILL happen! Don't get discouraged =-) You can do it.

Little Miss Daisy

Here's some pictures I took of Daisy on Saturday.

Here she is laying in her bed....we thought it was so cute that she was laying on her back.

She covered her eyes. Can you believe that??!!! She didn't like the flash...too CUTE!!

She was peeking out to see if I was still there.
Yes, Daisy.....I'm still here....snapping pictures....

She put her paws down and surrendered to the kitty cat paparazzi. LOL!

Getting sleepy..

Her eyes are getting heavy....

playing with her new toy. She has wrestled this little thing all over the house.

My Mom was playing with her....Mom kept holding her toy up and she would jump way up in the air to get it.
We are having alot of fun with our little Daisy. Is it obvious??!!! LOL!!!
