Proud Momma =)

Well....today Jarrett didn't have school. Yipeeee!! We were supposed to go to Dollywood for the day, but it just didn't work out. Michael is the Environmental Manager for the Corporation that he is employed....and that title comes with ALOT of responsibility. He is ultimately responsible for all Environmental issues...he has alot of employees that report directly to him, but HE is the one that pays the price if things aren't done correctly according to regulations. Anyway....we had planned on taking the boys back to Dollywood again today, but Michael had some unexpected issues at work that had to be taken care of yesterday evening and carried into today, so he couldn't take today off like he had planned. Michael was really worried that the boys were going to be soooo disappointed. So last night Michael called from work and talked to Jarrett and explained to him what was going on. Jarrett listened and I was waiting for the whining and attitude to begin. But, Jarrett simply said "We can just go another time Daddy.....so you can finish your work." I was so proud of him! Jarrett is such a thoughtful young man. When Jarrett got of the phone with Michael...I told him I was proud of him. He said that he just wanted to do what would help Daddy =).
Sooooo....today we went and had lunch with Michael. That's something that we don't get to do that often. It was really nice. Then tonight Jarrett has a short football practice in preparation for his big game tomorrow and then we are going to carve the 'ole Halloween pumpkin.
It has been a good day even though our plans were changed. We, as parents, got to see first hand what a fine young man Jarrett is turning into. =) We take no credit for that...we give the Glory to God! We only pray that we can be the parents that the Lord would want us to be. God is Good!!
