Grandparent's Day At Jarrett's School

Today at Jarrett's school they celebrated Grandparent's Day. Mamaw Na Na and Papaw Dan got to come over and enjoy the day with Jarrett.
My Mom didn't get to come...please remember her in your prayers...she isn't feeling well and she is feeling down without Daddy here with us during the holidays. It's always hard during the holidays for all of us, but especially Mom.
The Grandparent's Day program began at 1:00 today. The 3rd grade preformed 2 songs. The first one was Fanga Alafia...Jarrett said that was "Welcome To You" in Australian. The second song was You Make Me Smile. They all did a wonderful job..there was alot of teary eyed Grandparents in the room today. I was a little teary myself.
After the program the families were allowed to visit in the classrooms. When we went back to his classroom Jarrett had some surprises for Mamaw and Papaw. He gave Mamaw a bouquet of flowers, Papaw some candy, and he had written a story about "Why Grandparents Are Special" and gave it to them. So sweet!!!
They both enjoyed seeing Jarrett's classroom and looking at some of the projects he had completed that were on display.
After we left the classroom we all went into the cafeteria for refreshments.
Jarrett got to come on home with us too....to start his Thanksgiving vacation. Yipeee!!
We really enjoyed our day together.

Jarrett's principal....Mr. Kim Harvey making announcements at the beginning of the program.
Jarrett singing his little heart out. He did such a great job! they all did!!
Mamaw Na Na and Papaw Dan in Jarrett's class after Jarrett had given them their flowers and their poem about why he thinks Grandparents are Special. Here it is...I also typed it out in case you couldn't read it on the paper.
Grandparents are special because they love me. they take care of me, they feed me. They also take me to special places and sometimes just fun places. They like going outside and playing with my dogs. They are special because they let me fix my own supper. they like to draw with me. My grandma fixes the best breakfast. They like to read to me. They always come over on holidays. they are always nice to me, and my brother, and my cat tiger. They sometimes do anything I want to do. But the best thing about my grandparents is they are my grandparents and they like being my grandparents. That's why grandparents are special.

One of Jarrett's projects that was hanging in his classroom. He was to list 3 things he is thankful for...he listed....God, Family, Friends....in that order =-)
Here's Jarrett showing us another project he and 3 of his friends worked on and completed. It was a project about habitats. He got an A+!!
Jarrett drawing on the Smart Board in his classroom. That thing is sooo cool. It's like a huge flat screen computer on the wall. His teacher can do so many things with it. It's one awesome teaching tool!!!
Mrs. Penny Blevins (Jarrett's teacher)
Jarrett's buddy, Mr. Harvey. Jarrett has always really liked Mr. Harvey....and so do we! We all think he is one COOL CAT!! ha..ha..ha
Jarrett is so blessed to have such a wonderful school!!

Also, this evening we had the Thankful Feast at our church. It was great...soooooo much food!! Michael always looks forward to this. Our family life center was packed and we also had some great entertainment while we were eating. Our worship pastor asked a barbershop quartet to come and preform for us tonight....they were from ETSU and called BucWild. They were unbelievable!! It was really wonderful....I think everyone enjoyed it. It was a great evening.

Oh.....except when my so-called friends Cindy and Anitra denied me access to their table and would not allow me to sit with them! That really put a damper on my evening at first, but everything turned out ok, despite the hurt I felt way down deep in my heart =-( . ha..ha..ha GOTCHA!!! Consider yourself blogged girlies!!!! Love you guys!!!

Michael and I got to enjoy some quality time and conversation with our friends that did want to sit with us....Dan and Lisa. Consider yourself blogged too!! You is famous now!! ha..ha..ha... Lisa, I am anxiously awaiting the premier of your blogsite!! Love you guys too and it was so good to see you both!
